(Phnom Penh): Cambodia encouraged Vietnamese investors to explore opportunities in agriculture, manufacturing, logistics and emerging industries to strengthen bilateral investment and regional supply chains.
Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), made the remarks at the Cambodia–Viet Nam Business Forum 2026 on Friday (Oct. 9).
The forum brought together government officials, business associations, investors and business leaders from both countries to exchange information, explore investment opportunities and strengthen private-sector partnerships.
Chea Vuthy highlighted the complementary strengths of the Cambodian and Vietnamese economies, stressing the considerable potential for expanding bilateral trade and investment, particularly in agriculture, agro-processing, supporting industries and supply chain integration.
He noted that Cambodia’s growing tyre manufacturing industry has created rising demand for production inputs, including synthetic rubber and chemical raw materials, presenting opportunities for Vietnamese investors to establish local processing and input manufacturing facilities.
The secretary general also identified logistics, packaging, cold chain infrastructure, clean energy, digital technology and other manufacturing activities as promising areas for cooperation that could increase domestic value addition and strengthen economic competitiveness.
Chea Vuthy reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to improving its investment climate through incentives, streamlined services and investor support, while encouraging stronger partnerships between Cambodian and Vietnamese businesses.
