(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on Cambodian and Vietnamese businesses to turn discussions into concrete partnerships, agreements and investment projects in 2027 and beyond.
The premier spoke on Friday evening (Oct. 9) at the opening ceremony of the Cambodia-Viet Nam Business Forum 2026 at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, which he co-chaired with Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.
“I hope today’s forum will not end with only an exchange of views and business cards,” Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said, calling for tangible investment outcomes.
He encouraged businesses from both countries to move beyond traditional trade and expand cooperation in joint investment, manufacturing, processing and regional supply chains to generate greater economic value and strengthen competitiveness.
The prime minister also reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to maintaining a favourable investment climate through continued reforms and support for businesses. He pledged continued support for investors through ongoing reforms, stronger coordination and efforts to address challenges facing businesses.
According to the Council for the Development of Cambodia, Cambodia registered 107 Vietnamese investment projects worth approximately USD 3.6 billion between 1994 and September 2026.
