(Battambang): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed hope that 2027 will bring peace and prosperity to Cambodia, particularly border communities affected by conflict and flooding in 2025 and 2026.

The premier spoke on Thursday morning (Oct. 8) while presiding over a graduation ceremony for 2,001 students at the University of Management and Economics in Battambang province.

“I hope that by 2026, all the bad things will have come to an end, and that 2027 will bring peace and prosperity,” Samdech Thipadei said.

However, Samdech Thipadei underlined that Cambodia must not rely solely on hope but actively prevent crises, address challenges and strengthen national capacity.

The prime minister urged continued hard work, resilience and development, stressing that peace and prosperity must be built through collective efforts.
