(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said Cambodia will increase education and healthcare spending in 2027 despite higher allocations for national defence.
The premier spoke on Friday (Oct. 2) during a graduation ceremony for 2,573 graduates of Asia Euro University in Phnom Penh.
The premier said the 2027 education budget is expected to reach approximately USD 1.1 billion, an increase of 4.7 per cent from 2026, while the health budget is projected to rise by 1.5 per cent to around USD 680 million.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also reaffirmed that education and healthcare remain key government priorities as Cambodia increases defence spending.
