(Pursat): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged Sem Sokkea, a Cambodian resident who gained public attention in early 2025 due to a high-profile land dispute in the Antung Ang area (Mount 1500) of Pursat province, to cooperate with authorities to resolve the case, assuring her that she would not be arrested.
Speaking on Thursday morning (Oct. 1) at the inauguration of National Road No. 10, Samdech Thipadei said he had instructed Justice Minister Koeut Rith and Minister of Mines and Energy Keo Rottanak to investigate the dispute and seek an appropriate solution.
“If she comes to us, we will help her by providing land in the area where nearly 90 families have relocated. We will not arrest her,” he added.
Samdech Thipadei instructed relevant authorities to handle the dispute peacefully, transparently and flexibly, while ensuring that any legitimate claims are properly addressed.
The dispute dates back to at least March 2025, when Sem Sokkea petitioned the Ministry of Justice over contested land in the Antung Ang area, also known as Mount 1500, claiming legitimate rights to the property.
