(Pursat): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted National Road No. 10 as a strategic transport link connecting Cambodia’s northwestern mountainous region directly to the southwestern coast.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Oct. 1) during the inauguration ceremony of National Road No. 10 in Pursat province.

The premier the premier said the route cuts travel distances by about 306 kilometres from Battambang to Koh Kong, 230 kilometres from Pursat to Koh Kong, and 372 kilometres from Pailin to Koh Kong.

The 198.5-kilometre road connects Battambang, Pursat and Koh Kong, allowing travellers and goods to reach coastal areas without passing through Phnom Penh. A key feature is the 90-metre-high Techo Peace Russey Chrum Bridge, Cambodia’s highest bridge.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said National Road No. 10 will strengthen domestic connectivity, facilitate trade and agricultural transport, and support tourism and economic development across the region.
