(Phnom Penh): Huawei Southeast Asia President Wang Xu praised the company’s strong technology cooperation with Cambodian ministries and institutions during a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on Wednesday (Sep. 23) at the Peace Palace.

Wang Xu highlighted Cambodia’s progress in 5G and renewable energy, while outlining Huawei’s support for ICT training, digital skills development and technology transfer.

He also shared Huawei’s experience in using AI to help identify online scam operations and in developing digital ecosystems for SMEs, while stressing data protection and skilled workforce development.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet emphasized ICT human resource development, responsible AI use, cybersecurity and data sovereignty. He also called for stronger law enforcement capabilities and greater use of technology to combat online scams.

On the occasion, the premier encouraged Huawei to deepen cooperation with Cambodian institutions, particularly the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications.
