(Phnom Penh): Founder of G Adventures Bruce Poon Tip reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Cambodia’s tourism development and promoting the kingdom as an international travel destination.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet received a courtesy call from Bruce Poon Tip and his delegation at the Peace Palace as G Adventures hosts its 2026 GX Summit in Cambodia from 23 to 28 September 2026, bringing together approximately 700 delegates.

During the meeting, Bruce Poon Tip thanked the Royal Government for facilitating the summit, saying the international gathering provides an important opportunity to showcase Cambodia’s tourism potential to a global audience.

He praised the government’s tourism development strategy, particularly its emphasis on community-based tourism, which he said aligns with G Adventures’ mission of supporting local livelihoods and contributing to poverty reduction.

The G Adventures founder highlighted Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage and natural attractions, saying they offer significant potential to attract both domestic and international travellers.

He reaffirmed G Adventures’ commitment to promoting Cambodia internationally through cooperation with travel agencies, media organisations and prominent content creators, with a focus on showcasing the Kingdom’s attractions and presenting Cambodia as a safe, welcoming destination.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei welcomed G Adventures’ decision to hold the GX Summit in Cambodia, noting that the presence of hundreds of international delegates would help showcase the country’s tourism potential to a wider global audience.

The premier highlighted the Royal Government’s focus on ecotourism and community-based tourism, including investment in supporting infrastructure, capacity building for local communities and greater private-sector participation, while ensuring that local communities benefit from tourism development.

Samdech Thipadei also pointed to efforts to diversify Cambodia’s tourism offerings through new products, including cluster travel packages connecting Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and surrounding destinations.

He added that the government is modernising its visa application system and streamlining immigration procedures to make travel to Cambodia easier and more convenient for international visitors.

Samdech Thipadei encouraged G Adventures to continue working closely with the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB) and other relevant institutions to deepen cooperation and contribute to the long-term resilience and sustainable growth of Cambodia’s tourism sector.
