(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on Thailand to honour existing border agreements and pursue a peaceful resolution to disputes between the two countries in accordance with international law.

In a message marking the International Day of Peace on Sunday (Sep. 20), Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to the principles of sovereignty, equality, peaceful dispute settlement and the non-use of force.

The premier said adherence to these principles and existing agreements is essential to reducing tensions, rebuilding mutual trust and restoring lasting peace along the Cambodia-Thailand border.

Samdech Thipadei also underscored the importance of peace to Cambodia’s recovery and development, describing it as a foundation for poverty reduction, infrastructure development and deeper regional and global integration.
