(Siem Reap): Angkor Wat is set to offer a spectacular sunrise as the 2026 Angkor Equinox takes place from 21–23 September, with the exact equinox occurring on 22 September.

During the phenomenon, the rising sun will align with the central tower of Angkor Wat, creating a striking golden spectacle that highlights the ancient Khmer mastery of astronomy, mathematics and architecture.

The best viewing time is between 6:15 a.m. and 6:45 a.m., when visitors can witness and photograph the remarkable alignment.

Tourists are reminded to dress appropriately and follow the Angkor Code of Conduct to help protect and preserve the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
