(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called for stronger cancer prevention and treatment services, with a focus on developing specialised healthcare professionals, improving cancer data systems and raising public awareness of risk factors.
Speaking at the inauguration of Luang Mè Hospital on Wednesday (Sep. 16), the premier instructed the Ministry of Health to expand specialised training and strengthen cancer diagnosis, treatment and care in line with international standards.
The premier called for better national cancer data to support policymaking and urged healthcare providers to maintain high professional and ethical standards.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet further instructed relevant ministries to tighten food safety controls and strengthen public education on cancer prevention, healthy diets and risk reduction, particularly in schools.
