(Phnom Penh): Cambodian workers in the textile, garment, footwear, travel goods, and bag manufacturing sectors will receive a minimum total monthly wage of approximately USD 229.50 in 2026. This includes a basic wage of USD 210 and other benefits, excluding overtime and additional allowances.

According to the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, Cambodia's minimum total wage exceeds that of several key manufacturing countries, including Sri Lanka (USD 93), Myanmar (USD 97), Bangladesh (USD 102), Laos (USD 114), Pakistan (USD 143), India (approximately USD 192), and Vietnam (USD 147-USD 211, depending on the region).

Ministry Spokesperson Sun Mesa stated that Cambodia continues to prioritise improving workers' livelihoods while balancing workers' interests, employers' capacity, and the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector.

Beyond wages, Cambodian workers also benefit from the social security scheme, which includes healthcare, occupational risk coverage, and pensions. This helps reduce financial burdens and strengthens workers' income security.
