(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said he welcomes constructive criticism, analysis, and recommendations from intellectuals and analysts at home and abroad, even when their views differ from the government, provided they are reasoned and fact-based.

Speaking at the 11th nationwide gathering with Achar and Acharini on Wednesday (Aug. 19), the prime minister said constructive criticism can help identify shortcomings, improve policies, and address overlooked issues.

"If you speak to me with reason, I will listen. But if you insult me, I will not listen," the premier said, urging commentators in Cambodia and abroad to focus on practical solutions over emotion-driven attacks.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also underscored the need for mutual respect and open-mindedness between policymakers, researchers, and the public. He noted that he frequently receives direct feedback from citizens via social media, reaffirming the government's commitment to addressing valid public concerns.
