(Phnom Penh): Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing is set to pay a state visit to Cambodia in early September 2026, as the two countries seek to strengthen diplomatic ties and expand bilateral cooperation.
During his visit, Min Aung Hlaing is scheduled to hold high-level talks with senior Cambodian leaders, including Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
According to Senate Spokesperson Chea Thyrith, the upcoming visit is aimed at further strengthening Cambodia-Myanmar relations and exploring opportunities to deepen cooperation between the two countries.
The Cambodia trip comes as Min Aung Hlaing steps up diplomatic engagement following his election as president. He has visited several countries, including China, Thailand, and Russia, with further visits to India and Laos also planned.
The diplomatic outreach is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding strategic cooperation with regional and international partners following a prolonged period of political crisis in Myanmar.
