(Stung Treng): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed the Royal Government's commitment to building a road from Banlung to Cambodia's Dragon's Tail area, despite difficult terrain and other construction challenges, ensuring direct access to the Cambodia-Viet Nam-Laos tri-junction without crossing neighbouring countries.

Speaking at the inauguration of infrastructure achievements in Stung Treng province on Wednesday (Aug. 12), the premier said he had instructed relevant officials to overcome obstacles and move forward with the project, stressing its importance for connectivity, economic development, settlement, and territorial protection.

Samdech Thipadei underlined that improved road access would allow Cambodians to travel directly to the country's northeastern frontier entirely through Cambodian territory rather than having to pass through neighbouring countries.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also underscored the broader strategic importance of infrastructure development, noting that roads help connect communities, stimulate economic activity, support population settlement, and strengthen the country's presence in border areas.

He further highlighted government efforts to improve cross-border infrastructure and expand connectivity between border checkpoints and special economic zones, with the aim of facilitating trade, attracting investment, and accelerating development in Cambodia's northeastern provinces.
