(Stung Treng): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reminded provincial governors and public officials to prioritize serving the people over personal gain.

Speaking in Stung Treng province on Wednesday (Aug. 12), the prime minister said leaders should focus on the achievements they can deliver and leave behind for their communities.

“Do not think about what you will gain or take from this position. Think about what achievements you will build and leave behind for the people,” he said.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also recalled the efforts of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and other Cambodian leaders in rebuilding the country and improving people's lives after the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime in 1979.

He further underlined that a leader’s legacy should be measured by achievements and public service, not length of tenure, urging civil servants and institutional leaders to put national and public interests first.
