(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said academic degrees and high grades alone are not guarantees of success, stressing that practical skills, experience, perseverance, creativity, and the right attitude are equally critical for achieving success in both careers and life.

Speaking at the Royal University of Law and Economics’ graduation ceremony on Thursday (Aug. 6), Samdech Thipadei said universities must go beyond awarding degrees by ensuring graduates possess the knowledge, practical skills, and ability to apply what they have learned.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei underlined that educational institutions should prioritize the quality of learning over academic credentials, ensuring students graduate with competencies that meet real-world demands.

He added that degrees should reflect genuine competence rather than merely academic achievement, encouraging students to pursue lifelong learning, adapt to changing circumstances, and combine formal education with practical experience to achieve long-term success.
