(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged Cambodians to stay committed to their goals despite life's challenges, saying success depends on perseverance and refusing to give up, regardless of one's background or circumstances.
The premier spoke on Thursday (Jul. 2) at the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Pour un Sourire d'Enfant (PSE) in Phnom Penh.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said challenges are inevitable for everyone, whether they come from poor, middle-income, or wealthy families.
He emphasised that dreams and hope are the foundation of success, explaining that dreams provide direction while hope gives people the strength to keep moving forward. Losing hope, he said, is equivalent to closing the door on one's own opportunities.
On the occasion, the prime minister underlined that no one can limit a person's determination except the individual, encouraging young people to remain hopeful, persevere through hardships, and never abandon their aspirations.
Samdech Thipadei also noted that Cambodians today have the freedom to choose fields of study based on their interests, enabling them to develop their talents and contribute to the country's human resource development.
