(Beijing): Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia and President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), held bilateral talks with Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President of the People's Republic of China, at the Great Hall of the People on Friday (Jun. 26).

Samdech Techo expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by President Xi to him and the Cambodian delegation, and welcomed Xi's remarks on Cambodia–China relations.

Describing Cambodia and China as "ironclad friends," Samdech Techo affirmed that "no matter how the world or the climate changes, the friendship between Cambodia and China will never change." He added that Cambodia regards China as an old friend, a genuine friend, and a trusted partner of the Cambodian people, according to Senate Spokesperson Chea Thyrith.

Chea Thyrith said President Xi warmly welcomed Samdech Techo and the Cambodian delegation, describing him as a longtime friend who has made significant contributions to building and strengthening the Cambodia–China friendship.

President Xi said the bilateral relationship is "as solid as a rock" and recalled his 2025 state visit to Cambodia, noting that it further strengthened ties, particularly through the implementation of the Cambodia–China All-Weather Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.

During the talks, the two leaders discussed expanding cooperation in economic development and infrastructure. Samdech Techo requested China's continued support for Cambodia's infrastructure development, stressing that the country's economic growth and infrastructure expansion require China's continued partnership.

They also exchanged views on strengthening security cooperation through enhanced information sharing and more frequent high-level exchanges.

The two sides reviewed cooperation between the Cambodian People's Party and the Communist Party of China, highlighting the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing political dialogue and expanding cooperation in the training and development of young party members.

The leaders also discussed regional and international developments, agreeing to further strengthen coordination and mutual support in international forums amid an increasingly complex global environment.

On security cooperation, President Xi commended Cambodia's efforts to combat online fraud and cyber-related crime, reaffirming China's commitment to working closely with Cambodia to address these challenges.
