(Beijing): Chinese President Xi Jinping pledged to establish a security partnership with Cambodia during a meeting with Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen in Beijing on Friday (Jun. 26), according to Reuters.

During the meeting, President Xi said China is willing to strengthen security cooperation with Cambodia as the two countries continue to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership.

According to China's state news agency Xinhua, the Chinese president said the international and regional situation was undergoing "complex and profound changes" and that China and Cambodia should work together to inject more ⁠stability into regional peace and development.

Cambodia and China have maintained close diplomatic ties for decades, with Beijing remaining one of Cambodia's largest development partners and investors.
