(Tbilisi): Cambodia's verify.gov.kh document verification platform won the 2026 United Nations Public Service Award (UNPSA) in the Transparent and Accountable Public Institutions category after emerging from a competitive field of more than 700 submissions from 62 countries.
The award was presented on Thursday (Jun. 25) during the United Nations Public Service Forum in Tbilisi, Georgia, held under the theme, "Five Years to 2030: Accelerating Public Service Delivery for a Sustainable Future."
The platform was developed to combat document fraud, verify the authenticity of official documents, reduce administrative costs, save processing time, and accelerate the digital transformation of public services.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, the Digital Government Committee has continued to expand and enhance the platform as part of Cambodia's broader digital government agenda.
The platform has been upgraded with advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), biometric capabilities, scalable infrastructure, and enhanced cybersecurity aligned with international standards. It has also been recognized as the world's fourth Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and is now being shared with several other countries.
The latest UN recognition adds to a growing list of international accolades for verify.gov.kh, including the Gold Medal at the ASEAN Digital Awards 2024 in Singapore and the Outstanding Digital Service Award at the 20th World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Switzerland.
The achievement reflects Cambodia's progress in digital government innovation and underscores international recognition of the country's efforts to modernize public services while showcasing the capabilities of Cambodian technology professionals on the global stage.
