(Phnom Penh): An ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) visited Prasat Ta Mone Sen Chey Pagoda in Ta Mone Sen Chey Village, Kok Mon Commune, Banteay Ampil District, Oddar Meanchey Province on Thursday (Jun. 25) to assess the implementation of ceasefire commitments and verify the security situation on the ground.
According to Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for Cambodia's Ministry of National Defence, the Cambodian Coordination Group (CLG) facilitated the visit, which began at 9:35 a.m. The delegation was led by the Philippine Head of Mission of the ASEAN Observer Team.
The mission aimed to review compliance with and implementation of all measures outlined in the Joint Statement after the ceasefire took effect.
It should also be noted that the locations indiscriminately attacked by the Thai military in 2025 were entirely civilian infrastructure including school, hospital, Pagoda, and homes of innocent Cambodia civilians causing extensive damage and rendering them completely unusable.
The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia reaffirmed their firm, sincere, and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thai General Border Committee (GBC) of 27 December 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand of 26 October 2025, and all other relevant agreements. This commitment is made with the aim of ensuring rapid recovery and restoring normalcy, peace, stability, and security for the populations living along the border areas of both countries.
