(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia Ueno Atsushi signed the Exchange of Notes and accompanying documents on the extension of the Government of Japan's Yen Loan amounting to JPY 24,237,000,000 (approximately USD 162.7 million) for the implementation of Southwest Phnom Penh Irrigation and Drainage Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (III), according to a press release seen by Fresh News on Monday (Jun. 22).

The project aims to enhance agricultural productivity in rural areas and mitigate flood damage by rehabilitating and improving the existing irrigation and drainage facilities in the Southwestern corridor of Phnom Penh.

This continued financial assistance reflects Japan's steadfast commitment to promoting Cambodia's socio-economic development and the Cambodia-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
