Pyongyang, June 9 (KCNA): The historic Pyongyang meeting between the top leaders of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the People's Republic of China was arranged again at a time when the traditional DPRK-China friendship, forged in the long journey for independence against imperialism, peace and the accomplishment of the socialist cause, weathering all hard-ships of the times, is being developed at a new strategic level.
Xi Jinping's visit to the DPRK in the significant year marking the 65th anniversary of the conclusion of the DPRK-China Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance serves as the important and meaningful one in developing the DPRK-China friendly and cooperative relations, the strategic option and valuable common asset of the two parties and the peoples of the two countries.
The national flags of the two countries were fluttering at the flagstaffs.
Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju came to Pyongyang International Airport to greet Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan.
Present at the airport were Wang Yajun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and his embassy officials.
Xi Jinping's private plane landed at the airport at noon on Monday.

Xi Jinping's private car left the airport, escorted by motorcycles.

A ceremony took place at Kim Il Sung Square on June 8 to welcome Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China.
Seen at the square with the national flags of the DPRK and China fluttering were the guard of honor and the honorary cavalry of the Korean People's Army and the Central Military Band of the Ministry of National Defence.

Pyongyang citizens, youth and students and children were standing with national flags of the two countries and flowers.

He affirmed that the WPK and the DPRK government will as ever maintain the DPRK-China friendship as the most important top-priority strategic work and do their utmost to strengthen the bilateral relations into a model of the relationship between socialist states and into an invariably special, genuine and solid strategic relationship and that this is our immutable choice and will.
Our party, government and people are rejoiced over the fact that the Chinese party, government and people have achieved great world-startling successes in building a modern socialist country and raised their international position to the absolute height under the wise guidance of Xi Jinping, he said, stating that, no matter how the situation may change, our party and government will fully support the policy and stand of the Chinese party and government to defend the core interests on the "one-China" principle.
Expressing his impressions of his revisit to beautiful Pyongyang, Xi Jinping said he was pleased that in recent years Kim Jong Un has made important achievements, guiding the Korean-style socialism.
He said that the Chinese party and government will remain unchanged in their firm stand to place great importance on the traditional China-DPRK friendship, their firm support to the socialist cause of the DPRK led by Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un and their firm determination to defend the common interests of the both sides and good strategic environment no matter how the international situation may change.
He expressed his willingness to promote greater advance of the China-DPRK relations along with the times by providing a blueprint for the development of the China-DPRK relations in the new era together with Kim Jong Un, with his visit as an opportunity, and steadily boosting exchange and cooperation and thus to make a positive contribution to accomplishing the socialist cause of the two countries and promoting the wellbeing of the two peoples and promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the region and rest of the world.
The top leaders of the DPRK and China sincerely exchanged the experience gained in party- and state-building in the course of advancing the socialist cause and discussed important issues for putting the traditional DPRK-China friendly and cooperative relations on a more solid basis.
They also agreed to hold celebrations, further strengthen the strategic communication through high-level visits between the two parties and two countries and expand and develop exchanges and cooperation in political, economic, cultural and other fields on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the conclusion of the DPRK-China Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, in order to open a new chapter of the development of the DPRK-China relations.
The talks exchanged views on international and regional issues, discussed the issues for boosting the strategic coordination and cooperation between the two parties and two countries, firmly defending the sovereignty, security, development and interests of the two countries and jointly defending peace and development in the region and rest of the world in the complicated world political situation and reached a satisfactory consensus of views on them.
The talks took place in a comradely and friendly atmosphere.
