(Viet Nam): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet held bilateral talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung on 8 June 2026 during his official visit to Viet Nam and participation in the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum (AFF), held on 8-9 June 2026 in Hanoi.

The Vietnamese prime minister expressed high regard for Cambodia's swift advances across various sectors and conveyed strong confidence that, under Prime Minister Hun Manet's leadership, Cambodia will continue to achieve significant development milestones.

In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet congratulated Viet Nam on its impressive economic growth and expressed optimism that, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the Vietnamese Government, the nation will successfully meet its centennial development objectives by 2030 and 2045.

Both leaders acknowledged the positive progress in bilateral relations and collaboration across all sectors between Cambodia and Viet Nam, and expressed satisfaction with the current state of cooperation.

In addition, both sides agreed to organise a series of commemorative events to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2027. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and advancing them to a new level, guided by the principles of good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term stability.

Both leaders also exchanged views on enhancing collaboration in key areas such as politics, economy, trade, investment, security and defence, education and vocational training, healthcare, tourism, culture, energy, infrastructure connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges.

Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasised the importance of expediting the connection of the Phnom Penh-Bavet and Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai expressways, improving waterway transport links, and expanding direct flight connections between the two nations.

In the realm of trade and economic relations, he called for streamlined procedures for direct cross-border cargo transport between Cambodia and Viet Nam to minimise transit times.

Before concluding the meeting, both prime ministers exchanged insights on cooperation within regional and international frameworks of mutual interest to both countries.
