(Phnom Penh): The Cambodia Rice Federation announced that Cambodia exported 568,912 tonnes of rice during the first five months of 2026, generating USD 327 million in revenue.
According to the federation, 61 rice-exporting companies shipped rice to 63 destinations worldwide. Of the total, exports to 31 European countries reached 154,254 tonnes, valued at USD 105.12 million. Meanwhile, exports to China and Hong Kong totalled 162,125 tonnes, worth USD 94.92 million.
In addition, exports to five ASEAN countries amounted to 208,593 tonnes, generating USD 87.32 million. Exports to 24 other destinations, including countries in Africa, the Middle East, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, reached 43,940 tonnes, valued at USD 40.07 million.
In terms of rice varieties, fragrant rice accounted for 59.20 per cent of total exports, followed by long-grain white rice at 22.28 per cent. Broken rice represented 15.58 per cent, while parboiled rice and organic rice accounted for 1.72 per cent and 1.04 per cent, respectively. Other rice varieties made up the remaining 0.18 per cent.
Furthermore, during the same period, Cambodia exported 2,753,816 tonnes of wet paddy rice, valued at USD 591.41 million.
