(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin signed an agreement on Thursday (Jun. 4) covering seven cooperation projects under the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Special Fund 2026, with a total value of approximately USD 1.98 million, according to a press release seen by Fresh News on Friday (Jun. 5).
The projects include: Mushroom Cooperative Enterprise for Poverty Alleviation in Kandal Province; Combined Rural Economic Diversification and Shared Water for Shared Future Project-Phase II; CAM-PACK+ Enhancing Regional Market Access Through Packaging Innovation in Mekong-Lancang Countries; Hepatitis Elimination Program (HEP); Mekong-Lancang Community-based Tourism Digitalisation: Readiness for Chinese Tourists; Advancing Green Technology and Digital Transformation Capacity for Engineers of CMLV Countries; and From China to Cambodia: A Project to Advance Water Data Capacity and Regional Dialogue under the LMC Framework.
These projects will contribute to advancing Cambodia’s national development priorities across various sectors, including poverty alleviation, rural development, health, tourism, and digital transformation.
Since 2017, Cambodia has received funding support for 113 projects under the MLC Special Fund. The successful implementation of these initiatives reflects the continued commitment of Cambodia and China to building a community with a shared future characterized by peace, prosperity, and sustainable development for all Mekong-Lancang countries.
