(Phnom Penh): Senate President and Acting Head of State Samdech Techo Hun Sen announced that Cambodia will host the upcoming international summit of parliamentary and senate leaders at the newly inaugurated headquarters of the General Department of Taxation (GDT) in August 2026.

The 2nd Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), scheduled to take place in Cambodia in August, will bring together parliamentary and legislative leaders from around the world to discuss global challenges and strengthen international parliamentary cooperation.

Speaking during a visit to the new GDT headquarters on Tuesday (Jun. 2), Samdech Techo Hun Sen praised the facility as a modern and dignified landmark that reflects both Cambodia’s cultural identity and contemporary development.

Citing the complex’s spacious facilities and suitability for large-scale international gatherings, he confirmed that the venue has been selected to host the high-profile summit.

“In my capacity as President of the Senate and as the chair of the conference, I have decided that this headquarters will serve as the venue for this important international meeting,” Samdech Techo said.

He also commended Kong Vibol, Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister and GDT Director General, for overseeing the successful development of the new headquarters.

Officially inaugurated on 21 May 2026 by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, the new GDT headquarters is Cambodia’s largest government office complex. Built on a 25,755-square-metre site with a total floor area of 159,634 square metres, the complex features a 30-storey administrative tower and a four-storey commercial building.
