(Phnom Penh): On this day, we reflect on the tragic events that occurred one year ago, which led to the loss of Cambodian soldier Suon Raun near the Mom Bei border area in Choam Ksan district, Preah Vihear Province. Thai troops allegedly made an incursion, and this killed this heroic soldier, who was dedicated to protecting our national territory.

Descriptions of the scene evoked profound sorrow, depicting him found in his trench, dressed only in shorts, a stark reminder of the sudden nature of this tragedy.

The profound impact of this loss has resonated deeply throughout our nation, eliciting heartfelt condolences from His Majesty the King Norodom Sihamoni, national leaders, government officials, armed forces, and citizens alike.
