(Koh Kong): On 6 May 2026, the Cambodia LNG Storage Tank Project, undertaken by the Seventh Branch of CNCEC-CC6, completed the concrete pouring for the outer tank dome of the Phase I 200,000 m³ full containment LNG cryogenic storage tank.

This project is a critical part of the 2×450MW Gas Turbine Combined Cycle (GTCC) Power Plant in Koh Kong Province, Cambodia, a key energy cooperation project jointly developed by China and Cambodia under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Upon completion, the facility is expected to meet approximately 20 per cent of Cambodia’s electricity demand, playing a vital role in optimising the local energy structure and promoting economic and social development.

The cryogenic LNG storage tank features a full-containment structure consisting of a prestressed concrete outer tank and a 9 per cent nickel steel inner tank.

The concrete pouring for the outer tank dome utilised approximately 1,200 tons of reinforcing bar and 4,000 cubic meters of concrete.
