(Phnom Penh): The Indian Business Chamber in Cambodia (IBCC) successfully organized the IBCC Job Fair 2026 at Sun & Moon Riverside Hotel, Phnom Penh, bringing together Indian and Indian-majority companies, Cambodian universities, and job seekers on a single platform aimed at strengthening workforce development and employment opportunities.
The event marked IBCC's first dedicated job fair initiative, designed to bridge the gap between industry demand and emerging talent in Cambodia. With participation from over 25 companies and multiple universities, the event offered 200+ job opportunities across sectors including banking, technology, pharmaceuticals, retail, and professional services.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including: Chea Kosal, Secretary of State, Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (representing the Minister), and Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
In his opening remarks, Babulal Parihar, President of IBCC, highlighted the importance of creating structured platforms to connect employers with Cambodia's growing pool of young professionals. He emphasized that this initiative reflects IBCC's commitment to supporting both businesses and the broader employment ecosystem in Cambodia.
A key highlight of the event was the panel discussion on "AI, Education & Employability: Preparing Cambodia's Workforce for the Future."
The session brought together industry leaders and education representatives, including:
- Pen Lymeng, CEO & Founder, Dojology Tech & Ventures
- Jan Hanken, Co-Founder, ChainsAtlas Lab
- Mean Udam, Secretary to the Board of Governors, CamEd Business School
- Yorn Sophearith, Entrepreneur and Strategist.
Moderated by Niraj Gupta, Vice President of IBCC, the discussion explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping education systems, skill requirements, and hiring practices, while emphasizing the need for stronger collaboration between universities and industry.
Throughout the day, students, graduates, and professionals engaged directly with companies through booth interactions, enabling real-time discussions, interviews, and networking opportunities. The event attracted significant participation from job seekers, reinforcing the demand for structured employment platforms in Cambodia.
The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and the Embassy of India in Cambodia played a key role in supporting and promoting the event, contributing to its strong outreach and impact.
IBCC plans to build on this initiative by organizing larger-scale job fairs in the future, with the aim of creating a sustainable ecosystem that connects talent, education, and industry.
