(Philippines): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet held a bilateral meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the sidelines of the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Republic of the Philippines.

During the meeting, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed his pleasure at meeting Samdech Thipadei once again, noting that the frequent exchanges between him and Samdech Thipadei reflect the excellent relations and cooperation between Malaysia and Cambodia.

He further expressed satisfaction with bilateral ties and reaffirmed his commitment to further deepening and broadening relations between the two countries, particularly expanding cooperation in priority sectors for the mutual benefit of both countries and their peoples.

In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his active role in facilitating the two ceasefires between Cambodia and Thailand on 28 July and 27 December 2025.

Samdech Thipadei underlined that the Malaysian prime minister’s role reflects the spirit of ASEAN solidarity and has contributed significantly to stability, prosperity and sustainability in the region.

In addition, Samdech Thipadei discussed with the Malaysian prime minister the promotion of trade and investment cooperation, particularly in the Halal industry, which holds strong potential for Cambodia in the trade relations with Malaysia.

He further expressed appreciation to the Government of Malaysia for the support, including the deployment of Halal food technicians to Cambodia to help develop the necessary infrastructure and support platforms, with the aim of enabling Cambodia to become a certified exporter of Halal products.

Before concluding, the two leaders also discussed the importance of maintaining regional peace and stability, as well as further strengthening and expanding Cambodia–Malaysia cooperation in the fields of defence and security.
