(Phnom Penh): Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia Ueno Atsushi welcomed the trilateral summit meeting held on 7 May 2026 in Cebu, the Philippines, between the Philippines as ASEAN Chair, Cambodia and Thailand, praising the commitment of both Cambodian and Thai prime ministers to lasting peace and future confidence-building measures.

The ambassador also expressed respect for the diplomatic efforts of the Philippines in its role as ASEAN Chair in facilitating the discussions.
