(Kampong Speu): The Royal Cambodian Army and the Indian Army officially launched the second edition of their bilateral military exercise, “CINBAX-II,” on 6 May 2026 under the theme “Joint Counterterrorism and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Operations.”
The opening ceremony was presided over by Lieutenant General Uon Saroeun, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, with representatives from the Indian Defence Attaché Office attending to reaffirm India’s participation and support.
The 15-day exercise is being held from 3 to 18 May 2026 at the Techo Sen Phnom Thom Mreas Prov RCAF Training Center in Samraong Tong District, Kampong Speu Province. The program combines Command Post Exercises (CPX) and Field Training Exercises (FTX) aimed at strengthening joint operational readiness and interoperability between the two armies.
According to military officials, the exercise focuses on enhancing coordination in counterterrorism operations and humanitarian assistance missions, particularly in scenarios faced by United Nations peacekeeping forces.
A total of 280 troops are participating, including 120 personnel from the Indian Army and 160 members of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
The Indian contingent arrived in Cambodia on 3 May to participate in the exercise, which follows the successful inaugural edition hosted in India in 2024.
