(Phnom Penh): Chea Vandeth, Cambodian Minister of Post and Telecommunications, welcomed Professor Yassine Lakhnech, President of Université Grenoble Alpes in France, and his delegation at the ministry on 4 April 2026 to strengthen collaboration in digital skills and human capital development.

The discussions focused on expanding joint initiatives in education and training, building on existing cooperation between the French university and the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology. The partnership has already enabled Cambodian students to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees in France.

Both sides also highlighted ongoing academic exchanges and faculty collaboration in advanced fields such as space science, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

In addition, they explored plans to establish a National AI and Data Science Research Centre in Cambodia, aimed at advancing innovation and strengthening the country’s digital ecosystem.
