(Phnom Penh): Angkor Wat was ranked second among Asia’s top 25 travel destinations for 2026 on TripAdvisor.

According to the Angkor Enterprise, ticket sales from January to April 2026 generated USD 15.49 million from 322,004 international visitors. During the same period, USD 644,008 was contributed to the Kantha Bopha Foundation.

Constructed between 1113 and 1150 under King Suryavarman II and originally dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, Angkor Wat later served as the king’s mausoleum.

Recognised as the world’s largest religious monument, Angkor Wat continues to attract visitors worldwide, reinforcing its status as a cornerstone of Cambodia’s cultural heritage and tourism sector.
