(Phnom Penh): Ky Sokkim, Chief Executive Officer of the Skills Development Fund (SDF), announced that over the past six years, as of April 2026, the SDF has successfully facilitated training for over 90,000 employees across various factories and enterprises. A total budget of approximately USD 45 million has supported this initiative, with the SDF contributing 55 per cent of this funding.

During the FRESH BUSINESS forum held on May 2, presenters shared these insights under the theme "Enhancing Productivity and Skilled Workforce in Cambodia."

Due to funding constraints, Sokkim emphasised, they strategically focused training initiatives on nine priority sectors essential to current and future economic growth. These sectors encompass manufacturing and industry, tourism, construction, automotive, electronics, clean energy, logistics and transportation, digital advancements, and other cross-cutting fields that significantly contribute to economic development.

Furthermore, he highlighted that the SDF's commitment extends beyond corporate training, as it has also provided skills training to over 15,000 individuals in the informal economy.
