(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Ueno Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Cambodia, signed the Exchange of Notes and accompanying documents on the extension of the Government of Japan's Yen Loan for the "Flood Protection and Drainage Improvement Project in the Phnom Penh Capital City (I)", according to the press release seen by Fresh News on Friday (Apr. 24).
The loan signed at the Foreign Ministry today amounts to JPY 6,908,000,000 (approximately USD 46,000,000).
This project will enhance the resilience of Phnom Penh's infrastructure against flooding, preventing negative impact on daily life and economic activities.
The continued financial assistance reflects Japan's steadfast commitment to promoting Cambodia's socio-economic development and the Cambodia-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
