(Phnom Penh): Minister of Environment, Eang Sophalleth, extends his sincere appreciation to all environmental departments, local authorities, civil society organizations, the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, the Scouts, the Red Cross, religious groups, and citizens from all walks of life for their outstanding participation in maintaining cleanliness across Cambodia during the recent Khmer New Year celebrations.
Your collective efforts have delivered remarkable results. It is noted that the volume of waste was reduced by approximately 40 per cent compared to last year, while provinces and cities nationwide remained clean and well-managed each morning throughout the festivities.
This achievement reflects a growing public awareness and shared responsibility toward environmental protection. It is a strong indication that Cambodia is on the right path toward becoming a waste-free nation.
The ministry commends this spirit of unity and calls on all stakeholders to continue this momentum beyond the festive period, ensuring that cleanliness and environmental stewardship remain a daily practice for all.
Together, we are building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Cambodia.
