(Takeo): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet commended Senior Minister Kun Kim and relevant authorities for their active, on-the-ground support to displaced citizens.
Speaking on Saturday (Apr. 11) during the groundbreaking ceremony for Section II of the Funan Techo Canal in Takeo province, the premier praised veterans’ working groups, provincial authorities, and government teams for directly engaging affected communities and addressing urgent needs.
He highlighted Kun Kim’s hands-on approach, noting his direct interaction with residents, and expressed appreciation to teams in Banteay Meanchey province, Preah Vihear province, and Oddar Meanchey province, where thousands of families have been displaced.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet acknowledged challenges due to the scale of displacement but called for public understanding, while instructing officials to resolve all issues quickly and effectively.
He also expressed sympathy for affected families, reaffirming that the government will continue providing support, including temporary housing, while maintaining Cambodia’s territorial claims.
