(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a farewell call from Ülkü Kocaefe, outgoing Turkish Ambassador to Cambodia, at the Peace Palace on Friday (Apr. 10).

Ambassador Kocaefe conveyed her heartfelt thanks to the prime minister for taking the time to meet with her and her colleagues. She reflected on her tenure in Cambodia, expressing her pleasure in having served the country and her appreciation for the rich culture and heritage of the Cambodian people.

The outgoing ambassador provided an overview of the achievements realised during her time in office, highlighting the strengthening of friendship and bilateral cooperation between Cambodia and Türkiye. Her tenure notably enhanced relations in key areas, including economy, trade, education, and culture. She emphasised that there remain numerous potential sectors for further collaboration between the two nations.

In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet congratulated Ambassador Kocaefe on the successful conclusion of her diplomatic mission. He acknowledged her significant contributions to promoting Cambodia–Türkiye bilateral relations, noting the positive outcomes of her efforts.

He also agreed with the outgoing Turkish ambassador's assessment of the opportunities to expand cooperation across various sectors, which will further solidify ties between the two countries. He extended his best wishes for Ambassador Kocaefe's continued success in her future endeavours.
