(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet held a meeting with Tran Cam Tu, Member of the Politburo and Permanent Member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, at the Peace Palace on (Apr. 10).
During the meeting, Tran Cam Tu expressed his sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Hun Manet for taking the time to meet during his visit to Cambodia.
He conveyed greetings from To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of Viet Nam, and from Le Minh Hung, the newly appointed Prime Minister of Viet Nam. He also extended congratulations to Cambodia for its numerous achievements over the past few years.
He expressed confidence that, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, Cambodia will continue to realise new successes for its nation and people.
Tran Cam Tu also commended the progress in relations and the robust cooperation between the two countries, marking the beginning of a new phase in their partnership.
In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet warmly welcomed Tran Cam Tu and his delegation and congratulated Viet Nam on the successful conduct of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the recent election of its new leadership. He acknowledged Viet Nam's significant economic growth and notable achievements by its party and government.
On the occasion, the prime minister conveyed his regards to Viet Nam's president, as well as its new prime minister. He reaffirmed his commitment to further enhancing and expanding bilateral relations across various sectors, aimed at achieving greater progress and resilience.
Both leaders engaged in a constructive discussion, exchanging views on fostering cooperation across key areas such as politics, economics, trade, security, national defence, and education, as well as on promoting people-to-people connections, particularly among the youth of both nations.
