(Singapore): On Friday morning (Apr. 10), in Singapore, Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce of Cambodia, and Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and Environment and Minister in Charge of Trade Relations of the Republic of Singapore, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Food Security, marking another important step in strengthening trade relations between the two countries.

The memorandum of cooperation demonstrates a shared commitment to ensuring the stability, transparency and efficiency of the food supply chain, paving the way for increased Cambodian rice exports to the Singapore market, and supporting Singapore’s strategy to secure a stable food supply, as well as creating opportunities for sustainable new markets for Cambodian agriculture.

In addition, the memorandum also highlights Cambodia's important role as a potential rice exporter through its strong capacity to produce, compete, and supply to international markets, especially Cambodia's active participation in ensuring regional and global food security.
