(Phnom Penh): Jean-François Tain, Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister, said that the Cambodia–Thailand border dispute is no longer solely a bilateral matter but is increasingly taking on international dimensions.

Speaking at a press conference on 9 April, Jean-François Tain noted that mediation efforts involving ASEAN, the United States, and China have elevated the dispute to a broader global concern.

“The involvement of these key international actors shows that the issue now goes beyond a bilateral framework and requires wider international attention,” he said.

He emphasized that ASEAN has played a mediating role from the outset, while the participation of major powers reflects the growing significance of the dispute on the international stage.
