(Phnom Penh): Acting Head of State of Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, extended his sincere congratulations to Min Aung Hlaing on his election as President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, according to a letter seen by Fresh News on Tuesday (Apr. 7).

Samdech Techo stated, “On behalf of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Cambodian People’s Party, I wish to extend my sincere congratulations to you on your election by the Parliament of Myanmar as President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 3 April 2026.”

“I highly value the growing relations and cooperation and longstanding friendship between our two countries, which are deeply intertwined by shared cultural and religious affinities, as well as mutual respect and understanding. I am confident that these ties and cooperation will continue to develop during your tenure for the further tangible mutual benefit of our nations,” he added.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also expressed his readiness to continue working closely with Min Aung Hlaing to further enhance the countries’ relations, friendship and cooperation for the best interests of the two peoples, thereby contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.
