(Phnom Penh): Hout Hak, Minister of Tourism, received a courtesy call from Joo-Bong Park, Chairman of the Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), along with a delegation of executives from leading companies across various sectors, during their mission to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia on 30 March 2026.
The delegation also exchanged views on the country’s political, economic, and social landscape, as well as its investment prospects and tourism potential, at the Ministry of Tourism headquarters.
On the occasion, the Korean delegation expressed their sincere appreciation to the Minister for granting them the opportunity to meet. They underscored their strong interest in Cambodia’s economic and tourism potential, particularly highlighting the Kingdom’s peace, political stability, security, and continuous development, all of which are ensured by the Royal Government of Cambodia.
In response, the minister commended and highly appreciated the delegation’s interest and expressed gratitude for their role in promoting a clear and accurate understanding of Cambodia’s current situation. He also emphasised the Royal Government’s firm commitment to completely eliminating online scam-related crimes by April 2026, in line with the decisive and high-level directive of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia.
Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on enhancing tourist flows between the two countries through improved direct flight connectivity, joint promotional campaigns, the organisation of tourism events in both Cambodia and the Republic of Korea, and the development of new travel packages. These initiatives aim to attract more tourists and business communities, thereby further advancing tourism, trade, and investment, particularly by increasing the number of Korean visitors and investors to Cambodia in 2026 and 2027, marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Korea.
It is also noteworthy that the Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), established in 1885, has played a vital role in supporting Cambodia since it became a member on 1 March 2011. Through this membership, ICCI has contributed to promoting trade and investment, strengthening international business linkages, and facilitating various business-to-business (B2B) engagements with participation from members across more than 28 countries.
