(Phnom Penh): Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State, praised Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA) and its president Takahashi Fumiaki for their continued efforts in attracting Japanese investment to Cambodia during their meeting at the Senate's Solidarity Palace in Phnom Penh on Wednesday (Apr. 1).
According to Senate Spokesperson Chea Thyrith, Samdech Techo expressed appreciation for the Association’s growing role in facilitating investment and strengthening economic ties between Cambodia and Japan.
In his remarks, Samdech Techo extended his best wishes to Takahashi and his delegation for a productive visit, encouraging further initiatives to bring more investment into the Kingdom. He also highlighted JCA’s contributions to Cambodia’s economic development, noting the consistent support and cooperation from the Japanese government.
Samdech Techo underscored the importance of investing in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), reflecting on his administration's continued commitment to fostering broader investment opportunities in this sector, which he considers a vital driver of economic advancement in Cambodia.
On the occasion, JCA President Takahashi expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to meet with Samdech Techo and shared insights on the ongoing progress of the Japan-Cambodia Association. He noted the remarkable developments witnessed during each visit to Cambodia. He reaffirmed the Association's dedication to enhancing investment in the country's SMEs.
He added that Cambodia’s rich natural resources, combined with Japan’s advanced technology, could support the development of diverse export products and strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
