(Phnom Penh): Khmer Enterprise held a grant handover ceremony providing financial assistance packages to 60 startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), where 60 startups and SMEs received financial support.

The ceremony was presided over by Minister Hem Vanndy, Chairman of Khmer Enterprise’s Board of Trustees. The initiative is designed to strengthen business performance, sharpen competitiveness, and expand export opportunities, further supporting the nation's growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.

"Through strong national programs and broad local and international partnerships, Khmer Enterprise is equipping startups and SMEs with the tools, networks, and financial support they need to compete nationally and internationally,” Minister Hem Vanndy said. “More than just funding, the assistance acts as a catalyst — unlocking doors to private investment and deeper collaboration with the wider business and financial ecosystem."

Since 2020, Khmer Enterprise has rolled out hundreds of programmes to nurture entrepreneurship across Cambodia — from business plan competitions that spark creativity among students, to capacity development courses covering financial management, sales and marketing, and export strategies. These programmes are continuously refined to reflect the evolving needs of today's business landscape. Through networking events connecting startups and SMEs with investors, financial institutions, and key business partners, Khmer Enterprise ensures its support remains relevant, responsive, and aligned with the demands of a growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Chhieng Vanmunin, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as CEO of Khmer Enterprise, reaffirmed the government's commitment to fostering a strong and resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem, noting that direct financial assistance reflects Khmer Enterprise's dedication to improving business competitiveness and expanding market access.

He added that Khmer Enterprise's strategy is firmly focused on building businesses' resilience to external pressures while positioning them to seize emerging opportunities across a diverse range of markets — supported through targeted assistance packages and sector-specific initiatives.

As a national platform dedicated to advancing entrepreneurship, Khmer Enterprise continues to champion the growth of startups and SMEs. Through its efforts to cultivate a vibrant and dynamic private sector, Khmer Enterprise seeks to accelerate business growth and drive innovation. These initiatives are firmly aligned with the government's broader agenda of fostering sustainable economic development and securing long-term national prosperity.
