(Phnom Penh): The Cambodia–China Kratie Mekong Friendship Bridge officially opened on Wednesday, linking Chetr Borei District with Prek Prasab District across the Mekong River.

The 13-metre-wide bridge includes lanes for vehicles, motorcycles, and pedestrian walkways. The project also features over 32 kilometres of upgraded connecting roads.

Built under Cambodia’s Pentagonal Strategy Phase I, the bridge is expected to improve regional connectivity, link Kratie with Kampong Thom, and boost travel and economic activity.
