(Phnom Penh): Cambodia National Assembly President Samdech Thipadei Khuon Sudary received a courtesy call from Wang Wenbin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Cambodia, at the National Assembly Palace on Tuesday (Mar. 31).
Welcoming the ambassador on the occasion of the upcoming Khmer New Year, Samdech highlighted the tradition of festive exchanges between Cambodia and China, reflecting the enduring people-to-people ties between the two nations.
The president reaffirmed that China remains a true friend and trusted partner of Cambodia, noting that the bilateral relationship, often described as an “ironclad friendship,” continues to demonstrate resilience amid global uncertainties.
Ambassador Wang expressed appreciation for the warm reception and affirmed that Cambodia and China share close, family-like ties, underpinned by mutual trust and long-standing cooperation.
Samdech Khuon Sudary underscored that strong political trust and deepening strategic cooperation have delivered tangible benefits to both peoples, while also commending China’s role in promoting global peace, stability, and economic development.
She congratulated China on the successful conclusion of the annual “Two Sessions,” noting that the meetings of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the National People’s Congress (NPC) reflect effective governance and forward-looking national development.
